Nostalgic Memories
Most of you know I named the bakery after my late mother, Rose. For many years, my mom suffered from intestinal issues but never was tested for celiac disease. She suffered up until she passed away and there isn’t a day that goes by that I wish her health would have been different for her. She loved sweets and I know she would have been very proud of what we have created here at Rosie’s.
My mom was the salt of the earth and I miss her so much. To know her was to love her because she made you feel extra special. She raised me up as a single parent and provided me with all the comforts of home. I watched her work very hard and she was such an inspiration to me. She loved cooking in the kitchen and was known for her double decker grilled cheese sandwiches and delicious chicken soup. She wasn’t so much a baker while raising me but always bought wonderful sweets from Heinemann bakery, buckets of Maurice Lenell cookies and lots of Hostess and Little Debbie sweetness. My childhood was filled with comfort and unconditional love.
I will always be grateful for my time with my mom and the work ethic she instilled in me. I hope this Mother’s Day brings much joy and happiness to all women. May God bless you with an enriched life of all things comforting.
