A Great Sandwich Bread…
One of the things almost all people fear when being diagnosed with a gluten intolerance is finding a good bread let alone a great one! They fear they may never enjoy another sandwich or a piece of toast for breakfast. I understand this quite well because I had the same fears when first eliminating gluten from my diet over 15 years ago. Back then, there weren’t too many choices on the market and I was often disappointed when another new brand emerged. Sadly, I just didn’t eat bread anymore or settled on GF frozen bread when I wanted a grilled cheese or slice of toast.
Fortunately for us GF people, things changed a lot as bakers and homemakers experimented with different kinds of flours over the years and learned how to turn out a better product. Today, one can now purchase GF bread right from the grocery shelves vacuumed packed for extended shelf life. However, this bread tends to be spongy and not exactly what you may have in mind for your sandwich you’ve been dreaming about.
I have to admit, after opening up my storefront in the fall of 2019, I started to imagine a great sandwich bread again – this time on my own bread. So, I started to dabble and launched our breadline spring of 2020 that included a great sandwich bread, bagels, hamburger buns, dinner rolls and artisan bread along with pizza crust that I’m really proud of.
Our customers are enjoying our bread line so much they have become advocates for us. You can now enjoy our hamburger buns at Duke’s Alehouse and our sandwich bread at Nana’s New York Deli in Crystal Lake!
That great sandwich you’ve been dreaming about is now a reality! Enjoy!!
