Finding Joy in the Season
The Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season is upon us and for many this brings an overwhelming urge to do everything they see on Instagram and Pinterest. For many years, I was that person too. Table settings had to be unique, presents had to be wrapped like origami, gifts had to be exactly perfect for the recipient and I had to make sure I had the perfect Christmas outfit.
The new me embraces the season without overdoing it or feeling overwhelmed. I have learned to concentrate on the “feeling” of what I want rather than the visual. My Pinterest experience is now focused on foods that bring back my childhood memories and my home and activities are centered around what makes me feel happy, cozy and spiritually connected.
Amidst all the hustle and bustle, I urge everyone to make good choices for themselves and their families. An overspent, exhausted person forgets the reason for the season and misses the pockets of joy found in truly being in the moment. May your Thanksgiving be a reminder of all God’s blessings and may your Christmas this year be blessed with the love and promise of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Warmest Blessings,
Pam
